The Simple Golf Swing

The Simple Golf Swing
Need help keeping good tempo?

I’ve only been golfing for 2 years and my index is 8.9. My problem is I often rush my downswing and lose my drives to the left….I’m a lefty. Now I am only 5′8, 145 pounds and I don’t have much trouble hitting a 300 yarder but I am looking for consistency. I know when I swing smooth I hit it much better but I need help keeping my swing together. I also know what a good swing tempo feels like as I had it the other day and hit a 275 yard 3 wood to about 20 feet and made my eagle putt. Just want to keep it simple and in the fairway but don’t want to lose my yardage off the tee.

One of the best questions I have seen here if only because you realise that tempo is so important to a succesful swing. It also adds greatly to distance.
I would suggest you take a three quarter swing and make sure you pause at the top simply hit throught the ball with a high finish and try not to hit it hard.
Think Ernie Els and a few others who have great tempo such as Scott Adams. Do not try and impersonate Tiger. You need to be a fine tuned machine to control te shot with his tempo which is way to quick for the average human. Let’s face it the man is a machine.

A Lesson Learned: Haas overcomes many challenges to earn victory
Five days of golf, four golf courses, a fun-filled pro-am and pros rolling in birdie after birdie typically make up the Bob Hope Classic played each year in the California desert.
